What is RunThisTown?

RunThisTown redfines what a running goal looks like. It's creator, Matthew Harris, was an elite decathlete, having lived with performance based goals his entire life - faster, higher, stronger. But a return to Australia and a move to a new city inspired him to rethink what a fitness goal could look like. Born out of the desire to explore the local area after moving, RunThisTown helps you plan and track your progress running every road around a location. Seeing the progress towards completion is motivating and is a great way to help you engage in your local area, discover new places and stay active. So whether you're training for a marathon, exploring new neighborhoods, or simply trying to run every street in your town, RunThisTown provides the tools you need to visualize and track your running achievements.

Our GPS matching algorithm uses a 15-meter tolerance to match your GPS tracks to road segments. This provides a good balance between accuracy and flexibility for different GPS devices and conditions.

RunThisTown is a web application that works great on mobile devices through your browser. You can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Go to the Locations page and click "Add Location". Enter a name, address, and maximum distance from that address. The system will automatically discover road segments within that radius.
